Over this past year, one of my favorite digital Christian periodicals is, “The Christian Post.” Full of up-to-date news articles that affect Christianity and the Church, I have found the articles to be informative and solidly written. I, however, almost wish I had not read the post written on Tuesday, October 16 of this year. For in it, capturing the lead story was this headline: Most Evangelicals Believe God Accepts Worship of All Religions, Study Shows The article, written by Leonardo Blair, told of a new study, titled “2018 State of Theology” released by Ligonier Ministries--a gospel organization founded by the prolific writer and conservative theologian, R.C. Sproul—but conducted by our own Lifeway research, shows that many evangelicals have grown confused about some of the core doctrines of the Christian faith, believing that God accepts the worship of all religions, including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Chris Larson, president of Ligonier Ministries, made this statement concerning the study’s results:
In addition to this, the survey also showed that a majority of evangelicals believe that most people are basically good by nature, while 78 percent of evangelicals believe that Jesus was the first and greatest being created by God. Wait. . . Have I said I am stunned? shocked?!!! Folks, please, if ever there has been a single doubt in your mind, erase it now. If the Bible is the Word of God, and it is; then, there is only One Name by which mankind might be saved, that is Jesus the Christ. And the only worship that God the Father receives and is thus pleased by, is the worship that takes place through The Son by the empowerment of The Spirit. That and ONLY that may be considered, true worship. Bring Forth a Revival, Johnny
